Good Lord

They just called my father in law from the airport. They found his luggage.

Long live the underwear- and may this be the last I have to hear about it!

Art with tooth

Our day in the old city

We (Channah, my mom and I) spent yesterday in the Old City. Channah wanted to take my mom to one of her favourite place- Migdal David.

This picture is not doctored in any way. The sky really was that blue and there was not a single cloud in it!

Hanging out in the "castle"

Once we found our little buggy friends we met up with a frind who lives in the old city to borrow her comb and her bathroom. IT was great to see her again even under less than perfect circumstances.

After that we wandered and hung our around the Rova, went to the Kotel for mincha, grabbed a nice dinner at Ben Yehuda then went back to the Migdal David for the light show (which was truly "maxim" and totally woerth doing!

For your viewing pleasure, 2 videos of Channah dancing.

Le Sigh

It is 24 degrees outside and my mother is wearing a hoodie and a coat.

Yet she loves the weather back home.

I come from a strange family.

If only...

"We're going to the kotel"
"Oh good, I need to check if the Beit Hamikdash is back yet!"

We are now real Israeli's

We have done worms, we have done lice.

I think we are now officially card carrying Israeli's.

I think seeing something moving in my kids hair was truly one of the grossest thing I have ever seen. Yes, I know that here it is just part of life. Yes I know it is normal. Yes I know there is no judgment attached to it.

Still gross.

We were in the old city yesterday at Migdal David with my mom (more on that and pictures later) and all of a sudden we noticed her scratching her head. A lot.

I called my friend Rochelle who lives there and asked where to get a comb to at least give channah some relief until I could poison her head. she told me I was being silly and to just come over to use hers. So I did.

Interesting circumstances to reconnect with an old friend!

Be that as it may, we had a nice visit and when we left my kid smelled like black licorice (a scented oil that supposedly helps agitate the bugs to make them easier to find.

We have been combing and combing and combing. I find two in my hair (ick ick ick!!!) and combing some more. I think I have them all.

I poisoned my head, but have not poisoned hers. Everyone tells me that so long as I comb religiously I should be able to get them out without resorting to poisoning my child.

Channah's Birthday at Gan

This is one of those cases where a video says so much more than a regular post. suffice it to say that seeing my daughter this happy, and this loved, this excited about life(!), is the biggest reason we decided that we needed to move.

I have NEVER seen Channah as happy as she was today.
